Amy L. Tran, ATC grew up near the Virginia/Tennessee border in the small town of Meadowview. After graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School, she attended Bridgewater College. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training as well as became a Nationally Board Certified Athletic Trainer. She brings with her experiences in high school and college athletic training as well as in the clinical setting working closely with physical and occupational therapists including hand specialists.
Like many before her, the wonders of the Shenandoah Valley captured Amy and it became her home. She married Mount Jackson native Jeffrey Burner, Teacher and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Stonewall Jackson High School. They reside in Mount Jackson with their two children Tristan and Ocie, as well as two furry family members Bell (cat) and Jordan (dog).
Athletic Trainers are dedicated to the care and prevention of athletic injuries. The world of sports medicine is rapidly changing and it is crucial to stay abreast of the most current medical trends and up to date standards of care. She has been practicing as an Athletic Trainer for over 6 years and believes there is an inner athlete in us all. Even elite athletes need to be reminded of the basics of core stability, and proper body mechanics to prevent injury. Amy brings talents and experience to really motivate her athletes and patients. She has a true desire to share her knowledge and make a difference in their rehab journey.
Amy loves spending time with her family, going on hikes in the National Forrest, and supporting Stonewall Jackson Athletics. So far, the family’s favorite vacation get away is visiting her parents and taking a day trip over to Tweetsie Railroad in Boone, NC.
