Annie Baker
Physical Therapist, MS, PT
My Story
Annie Baker grew up in the rolling hills of Northeastern Pennsylvania, where a love of movement, nature, and helping others first took root. Her path eventually led her to Virginia in 2009, a place she has called home ever since—sometimes by the ocean, sometimes in the mountains—always feeding her natural sense of wanderlust and curiosity about the world.
Her academic journey began at The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science and discovered a meaningful blend of science, wellness, and human connection. Drawn deeper into the study of healing, she went on to complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis, Krannert School of Physical Therapy, building the foundation for a lifelong career devoted to restoring movement and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal.
Over the years, Annie expanded her work beyond traditional physical therapy, becoming a Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and continuing advanced training with The Integrative Women’s Health Institute. Her curiosity for holistic and integrative practices led her to certifications in Yoga, Pilates, The Feldenkrais Method, Touch for Health, and Healing Touch for Humans and Animals. These diverse modalities allow her to meet people where they are—physically, emotionally, energetically—and offer care that honors the whole person.
As a Traveling Physical Therapist, she has worked in outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospitals, and home health, gaining a rich perspective on how healing unfolds in different environments. She brings warmth, adaptability, and genuine presence to every patient encounter, guided by the belief that healing is both a science and an art.
When she’s not working, Annie can be found walking or hiking a favorite trail, practicing Yoga or Pilates, exploring fiber and mixed-media arts, or plucking gentle melodies on her harp. Her constant companion is her cat, Teddy, who adds his own quiet charm to her daily life.
